Graduated from Yale Engineering School
in 1949 with BS in Industrial Administration.
Many courses of study since then for whatever
subject was pertinent at the time.
Worked the first 20 years as mostly a mechanical
engineer in various metal working
manufacturing companies. Most notably:
Stanley Works, New Britain, CT (5 years)
and United-Carr Fastener Co., Cambridge,
MA (10 years). I hold 9 patents from my
work at Carr Fastener Co.
Quit my day gig in 1970 and played piano
in lounges for 3 full years, and for
two of those years, taught jazz piano
at Berkelee College of Music in Boston.
Took a "quickie" course in electronics
and started all over as a technician in 1975.
Writing embedded controller software came
very natually - especially for
electro-mechanical devices.
